PACKING UP AFTER THE FLIGHT
As the hot air escaped from the top of the balloon the passengers
helped to roll up the envelope.
Shortly after landing three police officers arrived in the
field, just to see how we were getting on. Roger reassured them
that we had landed, not crashed - when asked "Were you planning to
land here?" he answered "well, I was planning to land." :-)
The whole nylon ballon envelope, complete with 80 miles of hand-
stitching, fitted into an apparently unfeasibly small bag which
went on the front of the trailer. As it got dark we hefted the
wicker basket, knitted by blind people in Bristol, onto the
back, and then there was a brief break for champagne, bucks fizz
or orange juice, before the ride back home.
